This is the best movie I’ve ever seen in my life. I feel like I deeply understood everything Greta was trying to achieve in this movie and it was beautiful. If the world was run by women and then found out they weren’t treating half the population fairly, we actually do have the compassion to care and change our behavior. Absolutely no one else could have been ken, also, because who could act so stupid and "himbo" while also low-key being evil and scary for a sec. The dialogue was so perfect because it is very childlike for the most part, showing us that the little girls that play with Barbie’s don’t truly understand the world. They have not yet been taught to be insecure and don’t yet know how the world will treat them when they are older. The men competed over the women while the women didn’t care about it, which is stereotypical of what women do. Also, how in the real world girls compare themselves to Barbie -- it has something to do with the fact that girls are not raised in an empowering environment where women are treated with respect just for who they are and celebrated for their accomplishments. I liked that they included that every girl has a bit of a Barbie like connection with another woman in the generational relationships between girls and their mothers. However, of course, the truth is that human beings have real feelings and everyone has thoughts. But, if everyone could treat each other with basic respect, the closer we would get to equality, which would be close to a utopia at this point.
I also liked that Allen, who was a man, preferred for the women to be in charge instead of the kens because since he was different, his own sex turned against him and the women were more kind to him.
I just thought it was really perfect and beautiful and the soundtrack was flawless and I was engaged the entire time. And the cast was obviously everything like Margot Robbie is absolutely flawless. I also loved the sets and how the Barbie’s and kens move in Barbie world. So so so amazing and genius.
